In the cool 2011 season we have gone much more 'grigio' than 'gris', making a wonderfully delicate, fresh and lively wine. Exotic and scented with pear, almond and stonefruit, this wine dances lightly on the palate.
When we planted a hectare of pinot gris in 2000, we felt a little adventurous. It has certainly shot to popularity since then, and we think deservedly so. It is a variety that can be subtle as well as interesting and exciting. It goes well with food, and is a pleasure to drink rather than just taste. It is being made in a rather bewildering range of styles, and we prefer to stay with a clean fruit-driven approach. Our wine sees no oak and is bottled early.
