30th Birthday Lunch in the Vineyard

Saturday 26th October 2019, 12:30pm.

In 1988 Dr Edgar Riek and owner Mrs Dinny Killen planted the first hectare of Mount Majura Vineyard. To vigneron Dr Edgar Riek the site with an east-facing slope having limestone and volcanic rock had all the right components to be one of Canberra District’s best. The first wines were made in 1990, so the 2019 vintage was our 30th. From founding visionaries to current winemaker Frank van de Loo, we are excited to be celebrating our vineyard’s 30th birthday.

We’re looking forward to delving into the cellar to show the seasons and the wines that have helped shape us into one of the leading producers in the Canberra District. Of course we’ll be showing our current release wines alongside the older wines.

Our great friends at Schmicnics will be helping us with the catering, beginning with oysters and The Silurian on arrival and finishing with cheeses late in the afternoon.

It promises to be a beautiful afternoon of wines, fine food and stories from a vineyard 30 years in the making. We hope you can join us!
