Ah, Riesling! White blossom and lemon essence, along with that indefinable riesling-ness that is somewhere between aniseed, cold steel and crushed herbs. Purity and delicacy to the fore.
Riesling has secured its future at Mount Majura Vineyard, something we can only say of very few other varieties. In fact we're currently planting more. We love its delicacy, fragrance and personality. A proven performer in the cellar.
Light to medium yellow-straw colour, with an unusual lemonade-like note in its highly attractive aroma. The wine is intense and vibrant, with lively, fresh acidity and a rich-but-dry mouth, tasty and satisfying. Lovely drinking and very refreshing. It will age well. Drink 2018 to 2030. 95 points (Huon Hooke)
Tight, tangy, zingy white of piercing citrus fruit character and summery freshness. It’s all Warhead lollies and lime juice, some more florals in perfume perhaps, but the gist is we’re deep in citrus territory with all the accompanying refreshing feel. Amongst that tension, a light drizzle of ‘mineral feel’, just so and delicious. Great drinking here. 93+ Points (Mike Bennie)
