The Silurian period (430 million years ago) gave the rock for our soils and the name for our sparkling. After two years on lees, this zesty aperitif style has both delicacy and verve.

The Silurian is only made in cooler vintages that suit the style (none was made in 2014).

This chardonnay (59%) pinot noir (41%) has been made in the traditional method, the second fermentation taking place in the bottle it is sold in. Aging on lees has brought the extra dimension of autolysis character (biscuits-pastry aromas and creamy texture) to the very vibrant citrussy fruit.
